Sometimes caused by being too gentle with the throttle - the variable vanes in the turbo need "exercising" to keep them free of the carbon which would cause them to seize - an occasional "Italian tune-up" does the trick.YEP....

Our Santa Fe is the only car we have, and I use it fairly hard at times, during its first 5 years we were towing a lot around France and going to Switzerland twice a year, so it hasn't had a slow life........my Santa Fe is only used to tow a 1600kgs caravan and solo when away.
Me thinks I need to use it more solo as opposed to using our Kia Ceed.
Thank you. Making a mental note to make sure we give our tow car a good run out now and then once we get our small EV in use........my Santa Fe is only used to tow a 1600kgs caravan and solo when away.

Even with a petrol turbo and solo driving I occasionally have to give it some welly as in most circumstances it’s rarely challenged. When I took my pre owned Forester XT on its first trip to the Midlands I gave it some on the long hill on the Fosse up to Stow in the Wold. Surprising what muck came out the back.Otherwise known as “letting the engine breathe”. ………. Apparently
If a diesel, keep it in a lower gear so revs are high to burn off the soot on the DPF.Thank you. Making a mental note to make sure we give our tow car a good run out now and then once we get our small EV in use.

Did that with my diesel car this week gave it some welly on the A1 we had a run up to Bedale in North Yorkshire looking at some Seasonal sites . it certainly seems a lot better now .Otherwise known as “letting the engine breathe”. ………. Apparently
Are you buying another caravan for the seasonal site?Did that with my diesel car this week gave it some welly on the A1 we had a run up to Bedale in North Yorkshire looking at some Seasonal sites . it certainly seems a lot better now .
No we want everything plumb in and the easier way of life due my mobility needs .Are you buying another caravan for the seasonal site?
Looking for a static BB? There are lovely ones about. Good luck.No we want everything plumb in and the easier way of life due my mobility needs .
Will you be looking at a static and not a caravan? No we want everything plumb in and the easier way of life due my mobility needs .
BB did post in the Renting a Cottage thread that he would consider a static or lodge if he could get one at a reasonable price. Will you be looking at a static and not a caravan?
Then he needs to prepare to lose a shed load of money. There are so many horror stories about people who pay +£60k for a static and then come to sell it a couple of years later and can only sell it through the park who offers them a measly sum for the static. There was a very recent case on the BBC about this practice. However static ownership etc is probably best discussed on a new thread?BB did post in the Renting a Cottage thread that he would consider a static or lodge if he could get one at a reasonable price.
Agree, the link to two stories of woe is in my post just above. Then he needs to prepare to lose a shed load of money. Thanks Hutch. Glad to know it is all going according to plan.Dear Woosies, I would like to report that Dusty Dog , has had his shoulder replacement successfully done, He is in good humour but has to be in a sling for a couple of weeks , then Physiotherapy for several weeks.
If I have any more information I will pass it on,
