Hello to all The Woosies, I think looking at the present situation of the Covid stuff, I think, with regret we should cancel this years Woosie Fest, main reason should be obvious, there are several all getting into the highly vulnerable criteria.
And given the fact that we will not be able to have a meal and drink together, in a Pub, and hand over the Crown to the next poor ****** person, and maybe a Jacobs table could be frowned upon by others.

> There is still Waterrow ( if we are allowed into Zummerset) which Myself, Dusty Dog and Rick and Tina have, had, rebooked from April, booked for The first weekend in October. . I doubt there will be a meal out, or a Jacobs table, maybe just a sit around with our own sandwiches , in Plastic Macs in lovely 28c temps socially distancing. But of course this might not happen.
>
> I hope everyone agrees with me. I hope we can get a spring get together.
>
> Miss you all Hutch, Lady Baccus and loyal hounds.

Can’t see us having the caravan out this year. If you can’t ‘socialise’, be comfortable In a pub, or restaurant, or café, comfortable in company, no real freedom, pee in the hedge if you’re out and about, queue for everything on defined lines? Trying to keep ‘social distancing’, already seeing how folks have totally ignored it We’ve now served our ‘apprenticeship’ at isolation and it surprisingly has not been that bad. We are still alive and kicking (well alive anyway!) Got 1 or 2 medical visits to NHS pending so we are not panicking to get out, don’t want to book anything and then find conflict with appointments. Never thought I/we would say this but we’ve not really missed our caravanning after 44 years this last 6/7 months. Stay safe and we’ll see how it goes.

Looks like I will be removing my Wyomings battery and putting it on charge. This is a first in years where she hasn’t had regular use! I agree with Pete. The 4th July rush , packed sites, no pubs restaurants and queuing is a major turn off for me. Massive crowding in the showers etc seems a recipe for secondaries. Weird swimming pools are not allowed to open because of the risk of cross contamination in the changing rooms and showers😲😲

Pubs and restaurants will be open, but things will be a bit different to what we were used to.
There might be a requirement to book in advance, something we normally do when eating out anyway.
We enjoy meeting people but we're just as happy with our own company, so I'll be looking for interesting places to visit this year, where we haven't yet been preferably.
Our on board shower, washing and toilet facilities are adequate for our needs, so we'll wait for a little while to see how things work out with sites before taking advantage of the C&CC old codgers discount and exploring new horizons.

We are booked for later July to Forest of Dean then Derbyshire for mid August. Both sites have beautiful countryside and walks. Whilst we like to eat out and visit attractions they are not a deal breaker. Using the shower in this van will be a new experience but we’ve used previous caravan showers when required. So not anticipating a problem. But we will keep out of site facilities and communal areas.
Fingers crossed for good weather and BBQ.

Don't feel bad, as far as I can make out there are only two members, DD and Kev. TC is an honorary member. I am not a member as I don't make a fuss about matters lavatorial. I would suggest that you just assume membership. After all this is the Woosie club so they are hardly going to get stroppy with you.

The above post was from way back in Dec 2011, so to jog peoples memories and to inform the newbies I thought I would resurrect it as I am having panic attacks now.
The Woosie's were formed partly to do with Dusty Dog being rude ;)and calling me a big Woosie!!!
The reason....................I would never dream of letting anyone use the Woosie Pot in the caravan to it's full potential......wee wee is fine, sit down NO NO NO NO , oh my head is spinning!!
It seem's now that I will have no choice if we want to get away. (I wont use communal blocks, but could go one better than Lady Mel, shovel in the farmers field next door!!)
I'm starting to hyperventilate now, just the thought of emptying it makes me feel ill.
And no I have no chance of her indoors emptying it!!!
I'm off for a lie down!!
Stay safe folks.

As the excitement grows as the sites are due to open. but without the usual services. I have noticed mainly on other forums (although some on here as well) the horror of some of the caravan people about having to empty the Loo and using the shower.
I use CLs and even if some have showers etc I've never used them, and I honestly can't see the problem.
I'll get mi coat, before the flak starts.

OK I've bought it to you Sir Gag

The Peak is a lovely area. Aeons ago we used to go nearly every weekend to Matlock on the motorbikes. But I’ve also cycled and walked the area.

Fear not. We will be the advance guard and are going on the 8th. Will report back. (Must remember to pack the She-wee for use in handy hedges. )
Mel
As promised, I am reporting back. Just done 6 nights in Teesdale, which is lovely, we will be back. Check in was contactless, hand sanitiser everywhere. A private ( not club ) site. Owner requested toilet and shower blocks were left for tenters and camper vans, and that those with their own facilities used them. Went into the toilet and shower block for a reccy. Alternate toilet and shower cubicles were locked. Not sure why for toilets, as you are at least a meter apart and separated by a wall, showers on the other hand increase aerosol effect ( possibly; who knows) , so understand why for showers. Using own facilities not a problem even within the bijou wet room of our Xplore 302. However we were paying full site prices for what were effectively CL facilities.
Out and about, shops and cafes were all doing hand sanitiser and social distancing. Being ahead of the game( as always ;)) we wore masks in shops etc. The vast majority of folks were observing social distancing. Public toilets and toilets in pubs and cafes were open, so the She-wee didn’t see any action.
Generally felt it was OK enough.
Hope this helps. Stay safe

Hi Rick,
We are still hoping to go 1st to 9th October. Waterrow agreed to transfer my full payment from April. Who else is going? Maybe we will get an Indian Summer.

Hi Rick, the mini meet up is still on for myself and Dusty Dog, I thought you had rebooked from April. We are booked from the 1st to 9th October. At Waterrow.
I did see Parksy mention that he was thinking about it.
Not sure if Kev and Mags, will make it up for a weekend. I don't think a meal , as we would normally have but if "The Rock" has outside tables then a drink, will be ok. And maybe a social drink with your own snacks, might be possible. But not pushing anyone into socialising, out of their comfort zones.

Is the Rock still run by that strange, rude woman? What a terrible experience that was.
Talking to other landlords and hoteliers in the area she is a laughing stock, famed for her inhospitable manner.
I hope not, the reviews, I read last year, made me think that Waterrow would be a good spring meet up for the Woosies. . We will let you know in October,
Didn't OtherClive go there recently, or was that abandoned. ?
