    Caravan covers

Got one but not used it yet, got that to look forward to later in the year. Care to share "the knack"? happy to share my knack! Mine cover has a zip at the front and back corner on the left side. Preparation starts when I pack it up from last time it was on. 1, when you pack it away make sure...

    Hey there

Hi C6. We began caravanning for exactly the same reasons( 2 spaniels). My only advice would be to take things slowly and don't be in a rush to get all the stuff you see on the shelves. After a few trips you will realise what you need to take which will keep the weight down and make the...

    Caravan covers

I use mine all year round, fit it myself single handed in less that 30min, although it took a lot longer until I learned the knack. I store my caravan under trees so I feel it is essential as I don't want to have to clean the roof every month of fallen leaves and sap. Never had a problem with...

    onboard water tanks

My old Swift had an "onboard" tank slung underneath the floor. It was filled with a plug in submersible pump ( I had to renew the two pin sockets which had corroded) The flush tank for the toilet was also filled using a submersible pump. I never really liked the system as it held almost two...

Caravan length for booking with C&CC

Why does the C&CC not allow you to enter default details against your membership profile? I am sure that most members would find it easier as you need to enter the length and width every time you look at a fresh page on their site.

    Pneumatic tyre on jockey wheel

I fitted one which was located inside the A frame. I never had a problem on speed humps or ferry ramps but never had to use it over a dropped kerb so cant answer that point. when I changed vans I replaced the old solid tyre and fitted the pneumatic to my new jockey wheel. In the 7 years I have...

What tools do you take away caravanning?

Cork screw and can opener, you can always take the top off a bottle on the A frame.

    CCC website booking nightmare

I tried IE11, Chrome and Firefox but nothing seemed to improve the speed and drop outs from the web site. I sent a comment to them but I have heard nothing back yet. It seemed strange to me that the site could tell me what dates I had enquired about but the booking system would not. we even...

    CCC website booking nightmare

Just spent the last couple of hours pulling my hair out trying to book with the CCC on their web site. Initially trying for a specific site but it came back that accommodation was unavailable. I admit that the booking included the last weekend in August but we were looking in Scotland and its...

How do you level a twin axle van ?

A question that shows I might be a bit dim but... If the ramps are back to back and you drive over them then the effective height that the you have used to raise that side of the van is always going to be the same because the distance between the axles is constant. If you pull one axle further...

    Alko Hitch

I had the lever ride up, I needed to change the tow ball as I was advised that it did not have enough "neck" for the ALKO stabiliser. No problems after the change. The new tow ball cost about £10.

    Isle of Arran

Thanks for the info. L-W, although it's the same distance from us to either of the ferries I prefer not to have to travel the A9 if i can help it. Also Glasgow and north Ayrshire does not appeal too much! I live to the west of Inverness so Fort William etc, is a good route for me. Dustydog...
