Kia Sorento - Poor fuel consumption

We have a 04 plate XE auto with 49k on the clock now. We are now getting about 32mpg solo and around 23/24 towing 1500kg. The engine did seem to take a lot of miles to loosen up and around the 35k mark we started to get these figures. We also find that the car really struggles to get any decent...

After 27 years of caravanning, my wife and I would like to sa...

We ordered a Challenger 570 from the October show and were given a delivery date a week later by the dealer of 31st March. The van arrived at Catterick Caravans on the 30th March and we picked it up on the 3rd April.

    Bike Racks

We carry the bikes on the roof of the car, this allows us to transport to trail centres or cycle paths when we are away. Over the years I have spoken to many people who use carriers on the back of the caravan and even though I have been put of carrying bikes this way because of the potential of...

    Carrying Bikes

We are keen cyclists and the mountain bikes go away with us on the majority of trips. We always carry them on the roof of the car, a small plastic ladder from B&Q is ideal for loading them on the roof of the Sorento, it also comes in handy when putting up the awning. The bikes on the roof also...

    Coachman Pastiche 560/4

Hi Alan If you are happy with your old awning just get it extended. We had our awning adjusted in 2005 from 1000 to 1050 by Trio Pair in Pontefract. In fact the awning is still in good condition so I have just sent it back to have it adjusted again back to 1020 for the new van. With your...

    Inaca Awnings

We purchased a Sands back in 2005 from Barons and had it extended by 50cm two years ago to fit our current van. Really pleased with the awning, it has been used heavily over the last five years and still looks as good as new.

    Soaring Prices of Secondhand

The problem is very few dealers or manufacturers in the recession are prepared to hold stock of new vans. We bought a Challenger 570 at the October NEC show and the delivery is going to be March. Virtually all the maanufacturers we spoke to at the show were quoting delivery into 2010 with...

    Towing mirrors

Another vote for Milenco, I tried a pair of the suction type when they came out about four years back. The mirror head itself was a lot smaller than Milenco and as has already been said the suction pad obscures vitually all the car mirror.

    Is caravanning a hobby?

For us caravanning itself is not a hobby. What it does though is let us enjoy our hobbies which are mountain biking and walking far more than any package holiday.

    caravan club cc bookings 2010

Its about 15 mile up into Teesdale LB. Plenty of parking and great walking when you get there though. The Penine Way also passes through the area.

    CaravanTalk forum suspend Swift Group

I seldom post on the CT forum but do keep up to speed with the posts on a regular basis. Swift participation is a great benefit to all owners of their products. This decision to suspend them just seems stupid by CT. I fail to see how Swift get any commercial benefit from this all responses from...

    Bailey Pegasus

This week I passed a couple of Pegasus vans on the motorway being delivred to a dealer from the factory. The van being towed had a large protective sheet over the front which was obviously to protect the aluminium front from stone damage. If Bailey have to do this to protect the van while...

    Alko Motor Mover

We were also told at the show that prices would be announced nearer the launch and prices would be comparable with units currently available. If Alko think 2k is comparable I don't think the existing mover manufacturers will have much to worry about.

    stealth caravans

We could not get really close on Sunday to have a good look around, but just a quick glance at the back of one of the vans and noticing that they could not even fit the corner steadies level convinced me we will not see many Stealths on the road next year.
