sorry to "butt-in" but I noticed you are going to Chatsworth at xmas.

we were there twice during the summer, 1 night stopover on the way down then 3 nights on way back - the site is really nice, very flat and quiet - probably even quieter at xmas!

you get a key on arrival which is for a door next to the dog walk - it gives you access to the grounds of Chatsworth house and many miles of walks. if you have a dog ignore the dog walk and go through the door...

there was cricket going on when we were there and that summer "hazy" feeling - magical.

the entrance is quite narrow and there is a small humped bridge as you enter the site to look out for, gets a bit crowded at busy times. think you will love it though.

kind regards, Mark (",)

We would not like Sherwood Forest as it is a bit to close to home and l think lol might think the same.

I would like to do the green lane this yaer in my own 4x4.

and you wont just be have your legs smacked by Sparksey as well.

We stop at Sherwood Forest Holiday Park early this year it a good park. the poeple who run it are good as well and the shop is very good that they have on site I pulled in a lot of times just to get bits and I all ways see some good byes. the toilet block do let the site down a bit.

mark.

Hi Lisa

We are going alone, but a couple of friends are coming over on Boxing Day and hopefully staying the night.

The dogs are great thanks, how is Gaylord? what sort of cover do you need?

We have said over the years that we would go away for xmas, and this year we finally got round to it. Hope you have a good time if you decide to go!

How is Emma? & what van have you got now?

Lolly x
Hi

Emma and Phil are fine thanks. Gaylord is great, he's qualified for Cruts March 07 so looking forward to that. Just bought a cage cover off the web. Need one for shows, some of those SBT's are a bit scary!! Don't want them biting my little Gaylord. Just started getting him fit now. Bloomin hard work, stick to a strict schedule three times a day and don't deter from it.

We've got an Abbey Freestyle SE. It's L shaped front, (so you can lounge about watching tv) and a nice big bathroom at the end. Really like it.

Might go away next weekend as it's clear.

On the contrary, Mark. I don't mind staying close, Nottinghamshire is quite central if we have enough interest from people north of the border, in which case I would suggest Clumber Park Caravan Club site. Have heard good things about it but not stayed there in years. I would also suggest "Tallington Lakes", nice spacious, well kept pitches and a club on site. It has easy access from the A1 and is quite central too.

Clumber Park or Sherwood Forest for me.

Tallington Lakes is only 15 minutes down the road from me and it's right next door to a really busy main line railway. Not that nice either!

Hi Forum Folk

Me and the Long Suffering have been talking about meeting up with you regulars, We oftern use the Caravan Club site at Clumber.

Its a great site with the normal CC standards, the park is good with plenty to see and do, it would be a good venue for us as we are generally pushed for time at easter due to work committments and its only an hour away.

Put us on the intersted but not quite committed list.

I am happy to do the arranging for this time. Lisa and Roy did it last year and we should rotate it round so everyone gets a go or a break!. But I will need some help with a few things.

Do we still have the marquee?

I will look for a midlands venue probably south of Birmingham to make it central to everyone. I will start looking in a couple of weeks so that I have an idea of size. How about Stratford as there is loads to do around there?

Also, again this year we will ask the mag to get involved a little, with a little luck the new staff will not be so stuck up and will offer to join us in some way.

Confirmed so far....

Hi Ian

Thanks for your suggestions, but Redstone doesn't open till March, so may not be open at Easter?

Tudor has a minimum of 3 nights stay over Bank Holidays, I presume the rally is only for 2 nights?

Lolly x
It is now open from 1st February until 31st December

Where are we off to then? want to know what to put in the van,(sunbeds, bbq, snowgear, thong). If it is Clumber how are we going to book. CC will not take bookings until Dec at the earliest. Also would a CC site be a little restrictive(Lisa pole dancing etc)

Personally I think A CC site is not that good an idea. It will be used heavily by CC members (like me). But as always I will bow to the majority.

So, stratford it is then ;-)

Hey

Nothing wrong with CC sites and the people who use them, look at me!

Brian, I thought I asked you not to tell anyone I use the pole on the station for practicing.

Riverside at Stratford looks ok to me, free fishing and a river taxi to the local pub are not my idea of fun, but I'll put up with just about anything for you guys.

Riverside looks good. Lol it amazes me sometimes how people on this Forum are prepared to sacrifice so much for their fellow caravanner,(wipes cyber tear from eye) ;O)
