A friend of mine applied all manner of expensive security to his car and was confident that it was theft proof

Until it was picked up and lifted onto the back of a low loader, never to be seen again.

Nothing you can do when it is uplifted, unless the car has a tracker fitted then you may be able to trace the car.

I’m torn between the devil and the deep blue sea.

BIL car was stolen last year. It was recovered within a few days by luck , nothing else,
It took the Insurers repairer 5 months to fix it. They had real problems with the electrics and getting replacement e keys to work. Every panel had been damaged but sadly not enough to write it off.
He was only allowed a hire car for two weeks so had to rely on family for lifts.

I’d rather it hadn’t been recovered and he could have started again. Money is one thing but in truth they really don’t feel it’s their car. Tainted. A trade in is on the horizon in September.
