The manufacturer date is on the regulator, it should be replace at 10yrs oldGuys, this is the gas set up, my neighbour thinks this could be an old regulator, or it should already be fixed to the caravan by the service engineer, what do you think?

No, buy the correct pigtail from an accessory shop, they aren't expensive, as others have said, one end will screw onto your bulkhead regulator and the other onto your gas bottle. All straightforward but remember that the fitting that screws onto the gas bottle is a LEFT handed thread. This is mine, the black item is a newer version of the bulkhead regulator that you have, the other screws directly onto the cylinder. Thanks, should I remove the bit at the end of the pigtail and just be left with a nut at both ends
I always use my RIGHT hand to screw it on. LOL!All straightforward but remember that the fitting that screws onto the gas bottle is a LEFT handed thread.
I can understand your caution about using a gas bottle but these are used on thousands of touring and static caravans and motorhomes and boats. The number of incedences of problems on these is probably very low - but then again you don't want it to be yours it if happensGonna be on a seasonal pitch on ehu, we only plan to fry bacon and eggs, maybe do sausage and mash and a chilli nothing fancy, the sausages could done in an air fryer.
Do I really need a gas bottle, feel a bit edgy about using one being a newbie.

Does post #21 show a butane connector in the photo? For Richtee's information:-
GaryB's picture shows a bulkhead regulator with a flexible pigtail for connecting a PROPANE bottle, which has a different connection to the BUTANE cylinder on his own fittings.
Richtee you need to ensure you have the correct pigtail for the type of LPG cylinder you have. Propane cylinders have a male "POL" connector

Butane cylinders come in two types Dumpy bottles and older larger Butane cylinders use a female (the larger end)

More recent larger Butane use a clip on device

Which is the device you already have, combined with the correct pigtail.(Above)
Clearly from your questions you are unsure about the gas system you have and how to use it. I suggest you arrange to take a caravanning course run by caravanning clubs, as they take you through the essential working and safety processes, and doing it first hand you would learn a lot more from competent tutors.
