Hi Mark
Don't give up with the IT, I left school without any qualifications, was always called thick by everyone, then at 22 was diagnosed with a form of dyslexia know as dyspraxia only mild. I'd always been interested in computers so enrolled at college. I initially found it difficult, and didn't do very well, however the strange thing was, the further I went with it, the easier it got. What I realised was that I didn't learn things the normal way, I need to work it out for myself, and at the early stage this was difficult as the example given were all too simple, as they got more complex, thing became obvious, I left University with a degree in Software Engineering.
I now work for the NHS as a senior Information Development Office, working with a team developing information service through the internet/intranet, I've also spent several years lecturing at 2 local colleges, found this very rewarding, though had the give this up a couple of years ago due to work commitments, strange thing is, we've recently set on a member of staff he's just completed his masters, who I taught at college.
Now you're probably wondering how I've managed to type this (hopefully) so well, well I'm typing it in MS word and as I make common mistakes I've programmed the correct spelling in autocorrect, this automatically corrects my errors. I then read it through several time just to check my grammar, though not always successfully.
Matthew
