Thanks for the welcome Paul,it's not very nice is it,I feel sorry for you having to actually work your notice, I was paid mine, I was told I was being made redundant at 1pm and was off site by 3pm.Nice to feel wanted isn't it.
Yep you are right Roy, I would much rather have left, I have to work until Christmas Eve to rub salt into the wound, and of course if you choose to leave before then you don't get a penny! Makes it hard looking for a new job when you cannot start until 2nd Jan 2006 an Christmas is probably the worst time to look for a job, mind you my wife had suggested working in a grotto, wearing red and shouting ho ho ho

Horses eh. I bet you love me with my job?
Hi Martyn

Yes, fireworks are a problem but hopefully it only lasts for a couple of weeks a year. However, air brakes on lorries buses etc, god, that really freaks a horse. Lost my stirrups many a time due to air brakes!

Which part of the NHS is Ruth in,PCT or Acute trust? and what part of the country are you from

We have been promised minimal redundancies but expect those that do happen to come from support staff

As you say its a lovely life

Gill she is PCT and we are based in Hampshire. Yes it does seem to be support staff, admin, secretaries that are going mostly. A lot of the managers are also having to be interviewed for their own jobs as merge from variuos regions the same jobs! Fancy being interviewed to keep the job you do!

I live up the North East and worked for a well known Sugar company for 24 years down London up until 2 and a half year ago when I decided all that commuting was slowly doing me in. After having a lovely 5 months off I now work as a team leader for another food company making artificial flavourings for all that wonderful food we all eat. What I really would like is a job in a brewery as a beer taster but cant seem to find one.

Pierre, its good to have patience!
I take my hat off to anybody who works in the hospitality trade.....all those ungrateful and difficult customers, I'm afraid they'd be wearing their starters before it got to the table!!!!!

HI

Hi

Until recently I was a Primary School Deputy Head. Forced to resign due to ill-health (stress) Now I'm a part-time supply teacher and enjoying this. I can now work with kids without all the crap bureaucracy and paperwork. I've got my life back and I can spend MORE TIME CARAVANNING.

Cary, my wife, has just got a new job as a language support teacher - she goes around different schools advising on and helping pupils with language difficulties.

Tim
