peye, I'm replacing my very very reliable 2002 Sport with the diesel version next month. Please make sure the Quality Control is still working.

As you have inside knowledge are there any things about it I should be aware of?

Now that is a job where I can admire any person involved in special needs whether it be children or adults. Used to work in an FE college where there were special needs students. they would every Wednesday come across to the carpentry workshop for some hands on experience. John Bird the lecturer had a way with these youngsters which no other member of staff in the whole campus could match. Even organised for some players from Man. United to visit the college on one student's birthday and present him with a signed T shirt and football - the look of joy in that young man's eyes will forever be in my memory. He cried his heart out in glee. The local press even attended for his photo in the paper.

Hi Kevin

A very good friend of mine was a manager in a factory and gave it all up to become an HGV driver - now he has both class I & II.

Says it is the best thing he ever did.

However - he did have a bit of trouble with a few "cowboy" training firms - From what he says - it is worthwhile looking arround and asking for feedback from past trainees.

Good move I would say

You wish!

I make a joke about you being in the Diplomatic corp. at 3;06 pm and an hour or so later you pop up saying that you are!

I doubt it - having some experience of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (I deal with quite a few ex-pats) it is my understanding that a) their professional code would NEVER allow them to make the comment that you did re the rationale for the Gulf War(s) and b) they would NEVER admit to what they do as even the most lowly civil servant is subject to Official Secrets Act.

I really do think someone is living a dream world!

But you correct me if I am wrong!
