You're right Kev, had a good 'Google' around it and looks quite acceptable. except for as you mention "no dogs after September", seems to be the strangest exception ever come across for a site., any guess why? Wonder if they have any flexibility on it.

Happy Christmas and Happy New year

Looking at their rather vague website.
1. Adult only NO kids.
2. No mention about dogs.

Now to through a spanner in the works, we can't do September :(
Ladygaga can't get first two weeks off work and I can't get the second two weeks off :(
Thought there was talk of trying for the school half term in October to give the crazy guider family more of an option?

Stayed there a few years ago, was very pleasant then. Suspect it has developed since then. Certainly the club restaurant area as they had a disastrous fire there sometime later., and had to rebuild. 53 miles from us but that's no problem. Must have been 10/11 years since we were there, so no doubt changed a bit.

We are OK for most dates in September or October except for the weekend around the 12th Sept. Let's have a process of elimination(very fitting for WOOSIES). For those who want to attend which dates in Sept or October are NOT possible. Also Dame Crazyguider, when is half term in your area and is this a consideration for you. Some good suggestions for sites so far. We are OK with almost anywhere as the East Midlands is in the middle so it depends on folks who live further out.

I think Lincolnshire got a mention, anyone had any experience of Woodhallspa country park caravan site? The website looks OK and there is a pub nearby. On the other hand coastal would also make a nice change.

Happy New Year to all Woosies, like Good Queen Mel, we are ok to go almost anywhere from the West Midlands.
I like Lincolnshire and hope to go there anyway in 2015, maybe early in the year to Woodhall Spa to look round the old WW2 RAF bases, so another easy tow to the flatlands is ok by us.
Alternatively there are a few likely sites further north, Here's one which looks family and dog friendly and is on Sprocket's doorstep, There's another Here near to the east coast which has good reviews but as Mel mentioned, the decisions lie with those who have furthest to travel.

Our October half term is usually the last week of the month, and the van will have been put to bed by then as with dark nites the kids get bored with no tv in the van. Daughter will be revising for gcse's then, too. However as its a gathering of friends the kids will be fine and we could consider it...need to speak to Sir F about it.
We currently can do any weekend in September, but a weekend is Friday evening till Sunday, so we can't go a great distance.
Worth bearing in mind that in Sept kid friendly sites will be much quieter as the little darlings are back at school!

Just looked at Woodhall Spa, unfortunately too far and way too expensive for low season.
The Yorkshire sites look lovely, but again, too far to drive from Bath for a short break. East/west Mids is about the limit of our range, but I don't want to set a limit for everyone else, just to accomodate us!

We're ok for last two weeks of september , all of october.
All of the suggestions so far fit the Woosie requirements. In fact we will probably try a couple of them next year as we want to do Lincoln and Norfolk.

Claire
I can lend you a frree view box if it helps. Or monopoly or cluedo : :silly:

Kev and Sir WC
Anything suitable down your neck of the woods?

Lands End

Just been looking more central as crazyguider has suggested, somewhere around Royal Leaning Spa? Stratford?
Northampton? It would be approx 4 hours for both Sprocket and us. Will look up some site tonight as I have to go out for a bit.

Thanks for the freeview box offer, but we don't have a tv! Fortunately I forgot that my son had a laptop for Xmas, so we can attach an external dvd drive to it.

What is your max travelling time from Bath?
Let us know and we can all do some research on a suitable site.

Happy New Year everyone.

Kev can,t do Sept and Claire isn't tied to half term so how is everyone fixed for either the first or second Thursday to Monday in October. That's the 1st to 5th or 8th to 12th.
