The idea is to attach pedals to wings on the van and car, dangle ipads on strings in front of the kids, and make them pedal all the way. No breakaway as we shan't attach the car!

We did South Wales to Cumbernauld for a family wedding a few years ago. The groom's parents booked a 5 van site on which were 6 vans. We did stop for one night each way to break the journey, at about 70% journey distance.

Belinda was born and raised in Huddersfield so we know the area well.......but we don't think of the area as "The North" as many do....
We used to frequent a very quiet beauty spot high up on the Moors near Elland in the late 1960's!
Many people do the same today though the spot is no longer quiet.......it is now traversed by the M62

Now have a problem to sort on the Nissan.......for some reason front and rear road lights are not working :huh:
Indicators...brake....reversing lights all OK as is the headlight flash.
Must have caught a bug from Parkys's Mitsubishi

Water had found it's way to the back of one of the two fuse boxes on the Pajero and had caused a dead short. The Trundle Truck went in to the local garage for it's annual oil & filter change and check over but they didn't trace the fault, so I'd have had no chance
An auto electrician sorted it out for just £60 and it's as good as new now. :cheer:

.....sussed the problem
The multi function light / indicator stalk has failed due to a piece of plastic the thickness of a match stick.
This piece of plastic slides the various electrical contacts to the correct position to operate the chosen lights.
Since it has sheared off.........no lights.
This component will cost mega money at a Nissan dealer so off to our local car breakers.
I think the part is fitted to a Nissan Primera so may get lucky.

Thanks you Majesty but due to the wonderful world of auto parts where makers compete to create the largest number of parts to do the same job and then change those parts every year just to keep things complicated......mine looks like this.
.........it is easy to find a very similar switch that only has a switch position for rear fog lights......they too are around £15.
Mine has a switch position for front fog lights only as well as front and rear fogs together.
Still looking......
What about stripping the bits off of this one you could make a offer for it ?

Ed China the TV mechanic had the same problem of an Audi. He carefully drilled out the remainder of the plastic pin and araldited a cut down drill bit into the prepared hole.
is this possible for you?

Thanks Alan........that was my first thought
Decided against it as I try to keep the Old Nissan in good order and I would not want my repair to break way down in Spain!
To that end I am prepared to buy new if needed.......its only money :blink:
Update...........Fixed it
Managed to get a replacement stalk switch unit from our local very large car breakers.
The part was from a Nissan Primera and from the outside looked identical to my old part.
They charged me £6 and it was off the shelf.......I was dubious the internals would be the same and I was right to be as the contact sliders were different.
Juggled the bits around to make one good working unit........result
Decided against it as I try to keep the Old Nissan in good order and I would not want my repair to break way down in Spain!
