Its a good job nuptuals dont appear on your "no" list otherwise you would have Tina pulling out (if you pardon the expression)

Hi

Can we say Lickhill?

Can we agree on easter 2006? (anyone who has already said yes to these two questions, no need to reply again).

______________

I've had an email from the mod regarding my query, copied and pasted as follows:

We'll have to be very careful with this,

a. to make sure everyone's confidentiality is preserved (data protection act and all that)

b. to make sure there's no way you could become financially liable

I take it that you don't want to simply post your email address on the forum for direct contact?

How about if you post a message saying that anyone interested should email me pcvforum@templenet.co.uk with the words "Forum Rally" in the subject, and whatever content you ask for, and I can forward the emails to you. You can then check if the sender is someone you recognise from the forum, and email them back with your address.

When we are in a position to book the venue and send the deposits off, can I ask interested parties to contact the mod as he/she suggests. I'll devise a booking form which I can email to individuals. I will be asking for your address and possibly phone number as a safeguard against people paying their deposit and not turning up. I'll ask for cheques for deposit made payable to the site. I have emailed the site and asked them what would happen if people pay a deposit and not turn up (meaning, is anyone financially liable), but at the time of writing, I haven't had a reply.

If anyone has a problem with this, or if they can suggest another way of organising the event, can they let me know via a posting on the forum. I hope this is all ok.

Seems OK to me Lisa, if the site says they will hold you financially liable if someone doesn't turn up, how about if we all pay in full?

Hi Roy

I think that's the answer. People email me with their email address, I respond with an email and booking form attachment, they complete it, return to me with cheque in full payment payable to the site. I post to site, get a receipt.

DOES EVERYONE AGREE ON THIS? PLEASE RESPOND.

Thanks.

Lisa.

I strongly advise against calling it a rally as there are other implications and organisers could be held liable. Go along the lines of UKCS and called it a meet. We are call going to meet up at Lickhill and all bookings are independent. That way no one person is responsible if anything goes wrong and nobody can be held liable. Just a suggestion but I am sure that PC can give you more details on the legal aspects.

Hi Mark

Thanks for the posting.

Yes, email the mod, type 'Forum Rally' in the subject bit and just say 'can you let Lh have my email address'.

I'm ringing the site tomorrow to double check costs and run some queries by them.

I think most of us have agreed to pay in full. I'm hoping to be in a position shortly to put a post on with the final arrangements etc.

Have a nice time whilst you are away.

Hi big roy , lisa, sorry if ive seemed a little quiet on the subject, i am definately interested in coming along and although its qite a long drag to the site for a weekend im sure it would be worth it. the problem i have at the moment is i work as a train driver and this industry is very poor at letting us know what holiday dates we have for next year, we where supposed to be notified by the end of september but have now been told it will be the end of october. theire is a possibility that easter will fall on a long weekend of rest days for me so all is not as yet lost but unfortunatelly i can not confirm untill the dates are posted at work. sorry.

I'd also like to take part and have a chance to meet everybody but at this stage I can't confirm anything. It's a long haul from Germany so I will need to do a fair amount of planning first. I probably won't know for sure until the end of the year so I'm going to take the risk of not booking in advance even if it means having to stay elsewhere in the vicinity, if necessary. Perhaps someone can keep me posted regarding the arrangements and let me know if the are any other campsites nearby, just in case the one for the meet is fully booked.
